A picture a day
On January 1, 2015 I decided to start a project that would ultimately lead to limitless growth in photography. The concept was to take one picture every day. Some days were harder than others because of outside obligations with work, church and my family. But I was able to do it and it has been incredible. In fact, when I finished that first challenge, I woke up ion January 1, 2016 and decided to keep going. At this point, I have not stopped and I am on day 731. I’m not even sure I see an end in sight. I just love being able to capture everyday moments. I hope others will be inspired to do the same. In the second year, I got a new camera and started experimenting more with shadows.
Self Portrait
Being a photographer has it’s perks but one thing I have noticed is that I am not in nearly as many pictures as those around me and I want to be. I want my daughter to have pictures of me to look back on. I want her to know that I loved myself but I want her to know that some days it as easier than others. I have started a project to take self portraits. Sometimes they are of just me and other times I have gotten in the frame with my little girl. Either way, it has proven to be a very difficult project. I believe that we are all beautiful in our unique ways, but some days, it is hard to capture that when you do not feel it.
